Hailed by the New York Times as a “vibrant soprano...with a secure, appealing sound and eye-opening volume” Ms. Krynski Cox graduated cum laude of the University of South Carolina, and has a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music, where she was the recipient of the Mae Zenke Orvis Scholarship and the Shoshana Foundation Richard F. Gold Award.

Based in Switzerland, Ms. Krynski Cox will begin her 18/19 season at the Lucerne Festival where she will perform songs by Alma Deutscher accompanied by the composer, before returning as a guest artist to the Luzerner Theater where she will sing Donna Anna Don Giovanni, a series of gala concerts and revive Benedikt von Peter’s La Traviata. Last season’s roles for the company include Gretchen in Schumann’s Szenen aus Goethes Faust, Erste Dame Die Zauberflöte, and Alice Ford Falstaff.

Previous seasons’ highlights include Cynthia in the workshop of Nico Muhly’s Two Boys (Metropolitan Opera, New York); Erste Dame Die Zauberflöte (Luzerner Theater); Micaëla Carmen (El Paso Opera); Violetta La Traviata (Kentucky Opera); Louella Parsons in Argento’s Dream of Valentino, while also covering the title role in Arabella (Minnesota Opera); Micaëla in Brook/Bizet’s La Tragédie de Carmen, 5th Maid Elektra, and Annina La Traviata, while also singing Elisabetta Don Carlo and Tatyana Eugene Onegin in staged scenes, and covering Ellen Orford Peter Grimes, and Donna Anna Don Giovanni (Des Moines Metro Opera); cover Amaltea Mosé in Egitto (NYCO); the title role in Thaïs, Rosina The Ghosts of Versailles, Fiordiligi Così fan tutte, Salud La vida breve, and Alice Ford Falstaff (Manhattan School of Music). As an apprentice artist of the Santa Fe Opera she covered the roles of The Countess in Strauss’ Capriccio, and Sara in the world premiere of Jennifer Higdon’s Cold Mountain, and performed the roles of Lina Stiffelio, and Fiordiligi Così fan tutte in the apprentice artist staged scenes.

Ms. Krynski Cox’s awards includes 1st place in the Eisenberg-Fried Competition, the Arthur and Mae Orvis Foundation Inc. Award in the Liederkranz Competition, and Southeastern Regional Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 2011 & 2015.
